Kent York is the Marketing Director for the Northern Star Council, Boy Scouts of America, serving the greater Twin Cities Area. He handles internal/external communications, as well as advises the Council Innovation and Corporate Culture Committees. Kent has an MBA with a marketing concentration from the University of St. Thomas and B.A from the University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse, which included a year of study in Copenhagen, Denmark.
A Minneapolis Rotarian since 2007, Kent is especially passionate about the club’s work to foster youth literacy in Minneapolis and how critical it is for their success in life. Although he considers public dancing scarier than his rappelling a 23-story skyscraper in 2016 for a Scouting fundraiser, he willingly agreed to take part to support the important local and international work of the Minneapolis Rotary Foundation.
Kent enjoys technology as well as running and cross country skiing, completing twenty-five marathons and twenty-eight American Birkebeiner ski marathons. Kent and his wife Cindy live in Falcon Heights.
