Lucia has 20 years of experience in international senior management and fundraising for Non-Profits in Spain and the USA. Her professional focus has been on helping some of the most prestigious ‘blue-chips’ in the world achieve social impact while developing and actively participating in Corporate Responsibility Programs. Lucia served as CEO of Junior Achievement Spain for many years and led it to being one of the premier nonprofits in Europe. The Queen of Spain was invited by Lucia to be JA Spain´s Honorary President, a post that Her Majesty Queen Leticia graciously accepted.
In 2012 Lucia was chosen as a VIP visitor to the USA as a participant in the International Visitor Leadership Program. This program is funded and organized by the U.S. Department of State. Since arriving in Minnesota at the end of 2012, and having settled her family in, she was appointed Executive Director of Honoring Women Worldwide, based in St Paul. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum in Minnesota and serves as advisor and volunteer in several nonprofit boards caring for causes such as Child Education, Economic Empowerment and Human Rights for girls with potential.
Lucia has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in History of Art from the University of Madrid, has attended Europe’s premier Social Entrepreneurship Program at Europe’s no.1 business school, INSEAD, and has also attended classes at Penn State University. Lucia speaks fluent English, Spanish and French. Her main Interests are sailing and skiing. She is now exploring new opportunities in leadership and development of nonprofits in the Twin Cities.
